London, UK.*** *The agency has renewed credentials in the face of the challenges presented  by a global pandemic.* FlexMR have worked hard to maintain high security standards despite the challenges set by COVID-19, and this month were rewarded with the recertification of the ISO 27001 security certificate. Due to the pandemic, all FlexMR staff are working remotely; but the firm have taken steps to ensure that their stringent data security practices are maintained throughout this turbulent period, to safeguard the sensitive data employees handle on a daily basis. FlexMR’s Information Security Officer, Amy Ismay, says of the achievement, *“At FlexMR we are passionate about embedding robust and practical infosec processes throughout the business: this pays dividends in our relationships with clients; our reputation within the research community; the high standards of our staff; and our readiness for audit. Preparation for an audit is extensive but we make sure that the groundwork is carried out as part of standard scheduled checks, reviews and internal audits.”* Audits to the ISO 27001 standard are critical in ensuring that the correct security measures are being upheld. After the initial certification, the regular audit cycle features two consecutive years of surveillance audits followed by a recertification audit. For recertification, the auditors conduct a full system audit, interrogating all elements of the standard to see how FlexMR is managing its ISMS (Information Security Management System), and how continual improvement is being recognised and implemented across the organisation. Pam Taylor, Managing Director of FlexMR, states, *“We have been steadfast in our commitment to protecting the data of our clients. The brands we work with rightfully demand the highest level of data security, in line with industry best practices and standards. Achieving this recertification, during a global pandemic and a drastic change to our normal operation, is welcome recognition that we're providing exactly that."* The firm’s data security policies and protocols are observed by all employees, with each member maintaining a thorough understanding of their responsibility on an individual level as well as on an overall organisational level.
