As a part of the firm's annual Community Day, FlexMR will tackle the Cross Bay Walk across Morecambe Bay to Kents Bank Cumbria to raise money for St John’s Hospice

As part of the firm’s annual Community Day, the FlexMR team have taken up the challenge of the Cross Bay Walk. The team aims to raise more than £2,000 by crossing the sands of Morecambe Bay with clients, friends and family all in aid of the firm's charity of choice, St John's Hospice.
The Morecambe Cross Bay Walk is a historic hiking route that crosses Morecambe Bay in Northwest England. In fact, people have been crossing the sands of Morecambe Bay with a royally appointed guide since the 1500s. The route has connected Lancashire with Cumbria for centuries, but presents many hazards, including weather, tides, quick sands, and unpredictable channels. Approximately 8 miles long, and taking an average 3-4 hours, the walk is a popular fundraising activity - connecting walkers to a sense of history and local tradition, whilst supporting important causes.
Pam Taylor, Managing Director of FlexMR, said, “St John’s Hospice is a cause dear to our community; the Hospice strives to be there when people need it most, providing an array of much-needed services with minimal government funding. The government funding they receive only covers around a third of their running costs, with two-thirds of their running costs derived from fundraising efforts, community donations, legacy gifts and more. That is why we have chosen to raise money for St John’s Hospice this Community Day, and we hope you will join us too.”
