Insights empowerment company FlexMR has appointed Russell as a Non-Executive Advisor. In this role, he will support the firm’s ambitious growth strategy and advise the senior leadership team.
Following the firm’s most successful year to date, FlexMR has appointed former Market Research Society (MRS) and AURA Chairman Danny Russell to its senior leadership team. In this role, Russell will serve as a key connection between the company’s commercial objectives and the needs of UK insight teams.
On a mission to empower informed and customer-centric decisions in the modern competitive environment, FlexMR believes firmly in Russell’s aim to improve customer experience and commercial success through efficient use of insight, data and analytics. Together, FlexMR and Russell will explore how to better enable business success for the firm’s existing clients and the wider research industry.

An experienced industry veteran, Russell is the former Marketing Strategy Director at Sky, who has held senior positions at Boots, Kraft Foods, British Airways, PaddyPower and O2 Telefonica. Since founding a consultancy in 2015, he has worked with a range of consumer businesses, including 21st Century Fox, The Economist, Ladbrokes, Metro Bank, Vodafone, Zwift and LeCol.
Regarding the position with FlexMR, Russell added, “Paul and I worked closely, many years ago, when I first started at Sky. Russell also currently holds a range of Non-Executive and Advisory positions across the insight research sector. He has, in the past, advised Hall & Partners, Further and Watch Me Think. He has been recognised as a Fellow of the MRS and is a two-time recipient of the Insight 250 award.
