Iulia Ghindeanu to Present at IIeX EU 2019
Are you heading to IIeX EU on the 18th and 19th of February 2019? If so, be sure to stop by the new speakers track, where FlexMR Insight Manager, Iulia Ghindeanu, will be delivering her first ever public seminar.
Speaking on the topic of How Smart Assistants can Supercharge Traditional Online Methodologies, this presentation draws attention to the often-overlooked opportunity of smart, voice-based assistants as an emerging research channel. Over the course of the 15 minute session, Iulia will take the audience on a whistle-stop tour of the current opportunity, the barriers to getting there and challenge researchers to think differently about participant interaction.
How Smart Assistants can Supercharge Traditional Online Methodologies
Smart technology is visibly infiltrating the everyday lives of consumers. Smart assistants in particular are the most prominent example – providing users with an always-on connection to the cloud. However, smart technology is everywhere, from televisions to energy meters, this technology is readily accessible to anyone and is quickly changing from a commodity to a modern essential. With such increased accessibility to smart assistants comes an opportunity to drive online research engagement in a way that has not been explored before – through voice.
Taking the example of the online research community; these are typically closed ecosystems in which research respondents are able to complete research tasks and engage with each other in a way that provides brands with data on behaviours, attitudes and motivations. Given that these interactions currently revolve around a screen – a visual aid – the question is, how can smart assistants break the mould and deliver new opportunities without the need for a graphical interface.
Iulia will be demonstrating how smart assistants can impact a wide range of research activities – from improving survey delivery, to encouraging engagement within a community, and even adding an extra layer efficiency to qualitative tasks. Iulia will also be discussing the challenges that the insights industry faces as we attempt to integrate smart assistants into key market research processes, and what we can do to make this integration more effective. Ultimately, Iulia will look at how we encourage smart assistant adoption and can start building better research experiences around these devices that are fast becoming a part of everyday life.
